Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019

A rousing welcome to 2019 at the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019 with a kaleidoscope of lights, entertainment and fireworks

Revellers ushered in 2019 with a slew of activities at Marina Bay and the Civic District, as part of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019 celebrations.

The evening began with a myriad of activities across various partner event hubs around Marina Bay. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, Merlion, and ArtScience Museum were aglow with Build a Dream light projections adorning their façades, as part of the partnership with the building owners and the National Volunteer Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) to support the less fortunate in fulfilling their dreams and personal development.

Foodies congregated at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza for the debut of Food Truck Fest with an array of Singapore’s favourite dishes all in one location, including New Ubin Seafood, and Fishball Story. Visitors at Prudential Marina Bay Carnival at the Bayfront Event Space kicked-off the evening with thrilling rides and games from Europe and around the globe.

The Float @ Marina Bay hosted STAR ISLAND Singapore Countdown Edition. The multi- sensory fireworks musical wowed the audience with a combination of performance acts, 3D surround sound, lights, pyrotechnics and fireworks.

The adjacent Civic District was turned into a car-free activity hub with a smorgasbord of complementary activities in the area. Over at Empress Lawn, visitors enjoyed the free outdoor movie screenings and live music performances from local singers and bands. Others also participated in the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) Countdown Dance Workout comprising Fight-Do, K-Kardio Dance and Zumba, in front of the National Gallery Singapore, while Families for Life had family-friendly activities spread across Esplanade Park and Empress Lawn.

Fans of local music grooved to free performances at Esplanade Presents Come Together, held at the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.

At The Promontory, the crowd sang and danced alongside with Mediacorp artistes like Taufik Batisah, Gentle Bones, Joanna Dong, Sufi Rashid, Shabir, as well as the newly-crowned SPOP Sing! winner Jarrell Ng and the top three finalists throughout the night at the rousing Let’s Celebrate 2019 countdown concert.

The night ended on a high with revellers all around Marina Bay and Civic District collectively counting down to usher in the New Year with a memorable seven-minute long fireworks display at the stroke of midnight.
