THE FIRST LEGO® NINJAGO™ THE RIDE IN ASIA COMES TO MALAYSIAN SHORES

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s Latest Attraction Features High-Tech Sensors that Enable Guests to Shoot Fire, Ice, Lightning and Shockwaves with Hand Gestures!

It’s here! LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort yesterday announced the opening of its latest hi-tech attraction, LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride, the very first of its kind in Asia. The new ride enables guests to use their hands to throw virtual lightning bolts, move shockwaves, send ice soaring and emit fireballs with incredible accuracy. The ride is the Resort’s largest additional investment since its opening and is set to redefine the theme park experiencefor guests.LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride is a fully immersive 4D dark-ride inspired by the highly popular LEGO® line of NINJAGO™ toys and TV series, allowing guests to become their favourite characters and defeat enemies, from snake tribes, ghosts and skeletons to the Great Devourer under the guidance of Master Wu. The unique hand gesture technology by Triotech defines the experience by letting guests throw virtual projectiles with mere hands.

With an investment of more than RM40 million, LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride is experienced in
3D and features effects such as heat, smoke and wind throughout the adventure, giving guests the ultimate 4D experience. But the real highlight of the ride is its hand gesture technology. Manufactured by Triotech, a global leader in media-based interactive attractions, the technology enables guests to do as the ninjas do and launch fireballs, lightning, shockwaves or ice with hand movements. Hi-tech sensors register these movements with great accuracy and seamlessly launch virtual projectiles towards the targets on display. Up to four guests sit in each ride vehicle and are guided through various scenes encountering villains and challenges. At the end of the quest, guests can view their individual scores on display.

LOCATION
LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride will be located in the newly constructed LEGO® NINJAGO™World.

LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride
The ride takes place in the NINJAGO™ Training Temple – known from the LEGO® NINJAGO™ toy product, and the LEGO® NINJAGO™ TV series running worldwide. The LEGO® NINJAGO™ series tells the story off our young ninja heroes – Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane – who train under the watchful eye of Master Wu tomaster an ancient martial art – Spinjitzu. In the Training Temple, located at an ancient mountain, Master Wu invites the guests on training sessions, where the aim is to master the 4 LEGO® NINJAGO™ elements:Fire, Ice, Lightning and Earth. These sessions take place in different “dojos”; training rooms. In each room, Master Wu creates illusions of other worlds, inhabited by some of the old enemies of the LEGO®NINJAGO™ world. In each world, a special LEGO® NINJAGO™ element power has to be used, to scare away the bad guys. The guest can throw the element power towards the enemies in the form of “energy balls”, by moving their hands towards the enemies. LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride enables guests to demonstrate their ninja skills without the use of a handheld device and instead, by simply using their hand gestures. Riders collect points for their training and battle efforts throughout the ride and scores are displayed when their quest is completed.
